Thaddeus Parnell Ervin Sr., (Grandpappa) the son of the late Wilkerson T. Ervin Sr. and the late Lucille Brown Ervin was born on October 20, 1932 in Indianapolis, IN.
He attended the Indianapolis Public Schools throughout his school years. He served his country as part of the United States Army during the Korean War. Our professed his hope in Christ as his Savior in July 1975.
The purity of his heart reflected in his daily smile, never was there a day that was too much for him, to share his warmth of his love for his family or his friends, our father was caring, kind and never met a stranger. "Don't forget my Tootsie Rolls" became his common phrase, he was also known for celebrated Bar-B-Que.
Our father was our friend someone we could call and talk to about our problems, laugh with or even cry with, he loved his grandchildren, he would call daily to see how they were doing, or just to say hello. Our father will be greatly missed, but we will always cherish his memories in our hearts, he is gone but not forgotten. Our father was called home on June 2, 2001 and although we miss him, we know that he is in a better place, for we know that God makes no mistakes. We love you Daddy: Devona, Michael, Sharon, Pamela, Glen and Karen. |
