Weldina "Jody" Joan Ping Williams

Birth Date: 5/21/1929
Death Date: 6/14/2002
Washington Park East Cemetery
Three Faiths, Lot 35A, Grave 4

Our Mother Weldina Joan Ping Williams was born in Chicago on May 21st in the year 1929 and she passed away on June 14th of the year 2002. She was the daughter of Weldon C. and Eunice I. Ping. Mom made many friends during her life because she loved others and they all will miss her. She survived her sisters, Lind and Leslie and her brother Dickie but she never stopped loving, or missing being with them. She was a beautiful and intelligent young woman who graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis in only three years.

She married Guy Raymond Williams on August 6th in the year of 1949 and she cared for him and loved him with all of her heart until he passed away in 1996. During their years together they raised five children, Melody, Sheryl, Guy, Michael and Virginia whom are now left with only the memories of their special parents that we will pass down to Mom and Dad's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

We will remember how our Mother loved life and she always did her best to try and make the most of her limited time here. She always tried to have a smile or a kind word for others even when things were hard. Even through her pain when our father passed away on December 23 she was still wishing others a Merry Christmas on Christmas Eve.

We will remember how Mom loved the Holidays when she would have her family around her. She worked hard to prepare for these gatherings but Mom didn't mind because she loved to do things for her family. She believed in a close family and always enjoyed the times when the family was together.

We will remember how she was a fighter and was determined not to give up even when the circumstances placed on her would have overwhelmed even the strongest person. She surprised her doctors and others many times by miraculous recoveries from serious illness. Her desire to live was an inspiration to all whom was blessed to have known her.

She was a good Mother who always loved and cared for her children and we were very fortunate to have been blessed by being with her. She would not have wanted us or anyone to mourn her passing but that is easier said than done when someone has lost something so wonderful and precious.

The pictures we have included, as part of her memories can never begin to show all of her achievements, her love of family and others, her love of life, or how much the world has lost be her passing. Even though there is now an empty place in our lives we are comforted by the knowledge that our parents are watching over all of us from heaven and they will now be together forever.

Thank You Mommy, We Love You.
