Wladyslawa "Gladys" was born in Poland in 1920. She was raised in a poor but loving family, during World War 2 she was taken to Germany for forced labor. After the war, she met and married Waclaw another Polish refugee. Gladys had a baby girl, Katy, who died as an infant, and a surviving son, Walter. In 1952, the family of three came to America and Indianapolis.She was a housewife, caring for her husband and son. She also worked at Belzer Junior High School as a custodian. She is remembered as a good wife and mother, a kind and sharing friend, with a sweet and caring personality that is missed by all who knew her. |
