My mother, Blanche Marie Davie Adams was born near Geneva, New York, on September 22, 1925 to George and Louise Allen Davie. She was the second of nine children. A near fatal automobile accident in 1928 left Blanche with health problems for the remainder for her life.

Blanche attended the Rochester School for the Deaf. There she meet Helen Keller. Later, Blanche was to enjoy good hearing with the help of a hearing aid.

In 1945, Blanche went to work at Geneva General Hospital. Several years later on September 22, 1951 Blanche married Paul Munroe Adams in Indianapolis. Indiana. I, their daughter Grace Marie Adams was born January 16, 1953.

I have fond memories of Mother's work in church programs at the Free Methodist Church where we were attending. She also interpreted sermons for a deaf couple. In time, my parents were baptized into the Free Methodist Church.

Red was Mother's favorite color. I remember Mother baking apple pies and cinnamon rolls. She also made Dad's favorite Beans and cornbread. Mother enjoyed television. She especially like religious programming and old Perry Mason reruns. In later years, Mother had a cherished pet dog named Teddy. He was devoted to Mother until her death.

On September 22, 1991, Blanche and Paul celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. After several years of serious health problems. Paul passed away on August 1, 1993.

When Mother died at home on Wednesday morning, I felt as if the angels had come down from Heaven to take her home.
