Lenora was the fourth oldest of eight children born to Walter and Lula Offenbacker. Two of her older siblings, George and Winona, died at an early age. Lenora attended Lawrence High School. Along with her sister Lucille, she was a member of the 1926 Championship Girls' Basketball Team. She had three children with her first husband, Earl A. Richhart, Sr. She became active in the Civil Service while living in Selfridge Field, Michigan. Later, she became an Assistant Pharmacist at Paul's Drug Store in Indianapolis. Lenora was a gracious hostess and enjoyed traveling and dancing. She was an excellent housekeeper and very organized. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ at 4610 E. North Street, Indianapolis. She was an active member of the North Park Chapter of Eastern Star, where she attained the Star Point Station of Martha, and also enjoyed her participation in the Daughters of the Nile. She spent her last few years at Altenheim Community Home in Indianapolis. Even at ninety-one years of age, she still enjoyed playing cards. Although hampered by a stroke for almost a year, her mind was as sharp as a tack. She will be missed by her family and many friends. |
