John (Tommy) was an example of Supreme Manhood. He had a sweeping, powerful productive intellect and the mellow glow of a never failing enthusiasm.Tommy was rugged in a towering wealth of Moral Splendor. He was gentle, tender, considerate and affectionate. He was a sympathetic friend; a castle where strugglers could find shelter, counsel and comfort. He was a man with tremendous life program. He was no trifler. He was utterly devoted to the interests of God's Kingdom and he was the statesman of triumphant citizenship. Tommy was everything a husband should be. I never once heard him complain. He was always pleasant and kind. I can fly higher than an eagle, because you are the Wind Beneath My Wings. You are my hero. With love, Wife, Doris A. Thompson
When John and Doris got married, I did not lose a daughter, I gained a son. Mother-in-law, Alberta Mackifield
My father was my #1 hero, my friend and comic. He was my financial advisor, counselor, and fashion coordinator. He taught me a lot about life. He also taught me to bowl. He was the organizer of all our family functions as well as other social functions. He was the family photographer. My son called him G-Daddy.I remember him too, as a philosopher. I will always remember him saying, in his comical way, "I might not always be right, but I am never wrong".
Son, Anthony M. Thompson Grandson, Idris A. Thompson
My father was a very special creation of God. He was a special husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. To know him was to love him. My son called him G-Daddy. He was a special man with a special name, and each letter in his name had a special meaning to me and my children.
J He was Joyful. He was filled with happiness in Christ. O He was Outspoken. He said what he meant and meant what he said. H He was Humble. He strived not to lift himself above others. N He was always Neat in appearance, striving to look his best at all times.
W. He was full of Wisdom. He had the ability to make good judgment.
T He was Tither. He was a giver. H He was Honest. He was truthful and did what was right. O He was Optimistic. He always thought of the best in all situations. M He was Merciful. He showed more kindness than justice required. P He was an excellent Provider. He made sure our family had everything we need ALL THE TIME and what we wanted 99.9% of the time. S He wore the Sandals of the gospel on his feet. He carried the Sword of spirit in his hand and he wore the helmet of Salvationon his head. O He was One of a kind. He made the statement, "They broke the mold when they made you," a fact. N He had a New Outlookon life after he gave his life to Christ.
John Wesley Thompson, a special creation of God.
