Georgia was born near Smithland, KY but moved to Princeton, KY with her mother and sister at a very early age. She was the youngest of seven children, the next youngest was seven years older than Georgia. In the early 1940's, she moved to Indianapolis and lived with her sister, Jane, for a few years. During that time, she went to beauty school and worked for another sister, Martha, who owned a beauty shop. She also worked at several other jobs until she started at Western Electric in 1948. There she met Richard who began to work where in 1950. They were married in 1953.Georgia retired in 1962 and became a full time stay-at-home housewife. She then became interested in playing Bridge and Golf. In their transfers to Shreveport, LA Columbus, OH, and back to the Indianapolis area, she always managed to find Bridge groups and Golf partners. She always was an avid sports fan, especially of the Indianapolis Indians baseball team, but she was also interested in college basketball and pro football. After Richard retired in 1980, they went to the Indians spring training camp in Florida every year, no matter which major league team they were associated with. Until her health began to deteriorate, she looked forward to the trips as her main vacation of the year.As her health began to fail, she retained a wonderful attitude. Her interested changed to reading, especially mystery novels, and watching TV. Her weekly trips to the beauty chop to have her hair done were a great source of pleasure. When she was well, enough her visits with family and friends were enjoyable to her. When the weather permitted, she liked to sit on the porch, because neighbors would stop by to talk to her. She particularly liked the visits from the neighborhood children who called her 'Mrs. Mac'.Many who remember her when she was active will miss her. She was always willing to help others in any way that she could. Even though she was not an active church member, her faith in God was strong. May she rest in peace.
