David V. Hills

Birth Date: 2/21/1955
Death Date: 11/2/2001
Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery
Garden of Resurrection, Lot 13 D, Grave 1

David V. Hills, born February 21, 1955 in Cambridge, New York, father Vernon E. Hills (born October 15, 1934), mother, Barbara E. Hills (born February 19, 1929), brother Philip (born May 25, 1959), sister Linda (born November 6, 1961) died November 2, 2001 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

David's three great passions were his love for his God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, his love for his children, and the love of music- in that order.

A gifted musician, David played classical guitar and composed a wide range of music for solo and duet guitars, for vocal choirs and ensembles and set to music many Scriptures. He deeply desired to glorify God with his music. He was above all, a worshipper of the Lord Jesus.

David's four children are Corinne Johanna, Kristy Joninah, Caleb Jephthiah and Samantha Rose. As their earthly "Papa", David taught his children early to know the love of their "Papa God". He diligently trained them to know the Word of God, and to demonstrate their love for God by obeying His Word. When he lay weakly in a hospital bed, David often pointed one finger heavenward, in a silent declaration of "Jesus first". Then he lovingly exhorted the children to let this desire guide their lives, to always put Jesus first. His prayer for them was and always will be that they remain faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ, all the days of their lives.

Amen
