| Jesse was the son of Jesse Sr. and Lousetta Phillips. He had one sister. He grew up on the Westside of Indianapolis, Indiana. In his teen years, he spent some time in the CCC's. On March 20, 1943 he married Betty Winifred Harris, from this marriage was born three sons. During World War 2, he served with the 63rd Infantry Division and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. At the time of his death, he was working at Link Belt Company. He had five grandchildren. |
