S. Robert McMahon worked 37 years for Detroit Diesel Allison Division of General Motors Corp, retiring as Director of Personnel Services in 1978. A long time Speedway civil servant, the town of Speedway honored him in 1999 for 47 consecutive years of service. He served 16 years on the Speedway Town Board, more than 13 years on the Speedway School Board and 12 years on the Speedway Recreation Board. In addition, he was a 12-year member and past president of the Speedway Police Commission.He was a member and former two-term board member of the Speedway Christian Church. He was a member of the Speedway Lyons Club for 20 years and had assisted with the Speedway Little League baseball program.Mr. McMahon was a graduate of Bethany (West Virginia) College. He was the widower of Jane Anne Paisley. He leaves behind, children Jim, Lynn and Christie; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. |
