Keith was born just outside the town of Ingalls, Indiana, in Madison County. On July 26, 1915. He was the son of Lewis and Viola (Olvey) Wiseman. Keith lived around the Ingalls area most of his life. When his father died in 1936, they moved into the town of Ingalls. In 1948, he married Retha Mae Thackery in the Union Flatrock Church in Ripley County. They were married for over 52 years. He worked for the Goff Meat Co. in Pendleton, Indiana for several years and then at Gibson Co. until his retirement in 1971. When he and Retha Mae moved to Indianapolis, they had a house on Raymond St. where he loved to work in their yard and had many flowers that he liked to sit in his living room and look out the picture window and admire his yard. His hobbies were collecting cups, wrenches and caps, which he had several of each. Another thing that Keith enjoyed every year was the luminary lights that they placed in their driveway, their neighbor's driveways and the street into heir neighborhood. After the luminaries were lit, they always had an open house for neighbors, church friends and family. Everyone enjoyed that very much. Keith and Retha Mae belonged to Burge Terrace Baptist Church, where they have been members for over 40 years.Keith had five brothers, Carl, Paul, Harry, Arnold and Robert. He also had three sisters, Hazel Burns, Lula Morgan and Grace Crull.Although Keith had a physical disadvantage from childhood, he never let that keep him from doing the best he could for his family, friends and all who met him. People who knew Keith thought of him as the best person they had known and an example of all that can be accomplished in life. Keith went to be with the Lord on May 12,2001. He was 85 years old. |
