Mr. James Vaughn, Sr., was born to Arthur and Roberta Lott Vaughn-Young on September 24, 1936 in Memphis, Tennessee. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized. He completed his education in the Memphis School System.

James was united in marriage to Annie Ruth Winston on February 16, 18=957 and to this union two children were born.

He served his country in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge.

He retired from Erbrich Products, Inc. after twenty-seven years of faithful services.

James loved the outdoors especially fishing and outdoor cooking.

He united with Little Bethel Missionary Baptist Church on July 26, 1992 and remained faithful even when his health began to fail.

Brother James Vaughn was an active Mater Mason serving as Past Worship Master, Southern Cross Lodge # 39, F&A.M., Most Wise Perfect Master of Rose, Croix of Constantine #25, member of Persian Temple # 46, A.E.A.O.N.M.S., Past District Deputy Grand Master of Prince Hall, Grand Lodge, Jurisdiction of Indiana, Past Worthy Patron of Leah Chapter #2 and Order of Eastern Star.

Mr. James Vaughn departed this life after attending worship services on Sunday, March 7, 1993 at the age of fifty-six years. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Annie; three sons, James E. Vaughn, Jr., Michael and Jerome Franklin; one daughter, Sandra Kay Vaughn; five grandchildren; five brothers, Arthur, Oscar and Louis Vaughn, Robert and Ervin Young; a host of other relatives, friends and the Little Bethel Missionary Baptist Church family.
