| Doris was born May 11, 1927 and raised in Ripley County. She was the daughter of Rueben F. Campbell and Virginia R. Kirk Campbell. Doris graduated from New Marion High School in April 1945. She married Rolland T. Watson a May 22, 1945.Doris and Rolland had two sons, Raymond F. Watson, born April 24, 1952 and Dale L. Watson, born December 23, 1953.Doris was a licensed beautician. She owned her own shop for a couple of years. She continued to use her skills for family and friends. Doris was always very devoted to her family. She was active in the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a den mother for Ray and Dale. As the boys got older, she began working at Lawrence Township School Corporation in food services. She later became manager of food services at Skiles Test School. Doris and Rolland enjoyed traveling. They shared many trips together, often with family and friends. Doris and Rolland also enjoyed collecting Llardro and were members of that society.Doris has four grandchildren, Jeremy L. Watson, born May 16, 1982; Samantha M. Watson, born February 24, 1984; Jeffrey R. Thomas, born February 21, 1983 and Gregory N. Thomas, born February 6, 1987.She was a very special lady; a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Doris had a quiet, gentle spirit. She was a person of great integrity. She was dearly loved and will be missed. |
