| In Honor of my Grandma PearlShe was a GemShe was my second 'Mom' and the 'Mom' to many more. She loved unselfishly and unconditionally. Her strong constitution and ethic carried her through her life and kept her mentally sharp for almost 94 years. She rarely had an unkind word; and if she did, it was short, sweet and done.Grandma had a sense of humor that created a loving smile to all. As a young woman, her humor; and love for her family was her strength and molded her into the matriarch of our family.I remember that an early age she entertained me with cheers, jumping, wiggling and flailing of her arms. She made me laugh, but commanded and gave respect. She taught me adventure when we would venture downtown on the bus. Those were great days, holding her hand as she taught me bout being myself. Her energy was incredible. She could wash her house, do laundry, top a tree, have endless conversations with me and still have a full dinner ready for any number of folks who might stop by. With apron on, hair done and lipstick on, she was always READY!She has left us to join, her sisters, brother, son, husband, parents and others who have passed. They will have the privilege of her strength and she will support them as she always has done in earthly life. I can tell you, so many who have passed will be endeared and warmed by the presence of her love.I will carry her love in my heart always.Patricia Dale Cobb Smith |
