| Lotus Marion Bumpas was born April 16, 1901, in Hope, Indiana. He was the third of seven children born to William Omar Bumpas and Frances Ottus Leightner. He married Lorena Mae Wright on November 24, 1926, in Indianapolis, Indiana. They had two children, Patricia who only lived 5 hours and Richard. He was a carpenter and made many of the cabinets that held he and Lorena's antiques. He was the supervisor of the custom mill of Burnet Binford Lumber Company when he retired in 1965, having worked there 37 years. He and Lorena devoted many hours to hunting antiques, refurbishing them and keeping most of them but selling a few. They also spent a lot of time with their grandchildren, Linda, To, Dianne and Ronald. Lotus was an active member of Unity Methodist Church and in later years was a member of Roberts Park Methodist Church. |
