Roger William Scott

Birth Date: 3/23/1970
Death Date: 12/24/2000
Washington Park North Cemetery
Garden of Saint Luke, Section 81 A, Grave 3

To laugh and love much, to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children, to earn the honest approbation of critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to give of one's self, to leave the world a little better place whether by a garden patch, healthy child, or a redeemed social condition, to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation and to know that one life breathed a little easier because you have lived. This is true success!

Ralph Waldo Emerson's words tugged at the heart strings of Roger William Scott and served as his guide and model for living. Soft spoken, sensitive, caring, gentle and often misunderstood, Roger was viewed by many as a quiet, creative and spiritual enigma.

Roger William Scott was the younger of two children born to the late William "Bill" Scott and Florence Patrick Scott on March 23, 1970 in Indianapolis, Indiana. His primary and secondary education was completed in the Metropolitan School District of Washington Township with graduation from North Central High School. Roger attended Pasadena City College in Pasadena, California and Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.

Roger loved and participated in baseball, basketball, track and football. He loved and listened to all kinds of music; he appeared as an "extra" in several movies during his stay in the Los Angeles area and had aspirations of entering the field of entertainment. A lover of animals and a friend to those less fortunate than himself, Roger Scott exposed his shy, unassuming demeanor to everyone with whom he came in contact.

At a very early age, Roger was baptized at Witherspoon Presbyterian Church. He later became affiliated with Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church.

Roger was employed with Daimler Chrysler Corporation in Indianapolis, Indiana until Sunday December 24, 2000 when his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ said, "Come Home Quickly"!

Roger William Scott touched the lives of many people and will be remembered and truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
