Clarence Ellis, Jr., born, on September 7, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana to his parents, Clarence Sr. and Mildred Lee Caldwell, both preceded him in death.

Clarence attended Indianapolis Public School # 75 and graduated from George Washington High School in 1963. He continued his studies at Ivy Tech Vocational School and was a Labor Activist and Labor Educator, receiving a certificate in Labor Studies from IUPUI.

In the early years, Clarence attended Christ Temple Church under the leadership of Bishop Willie Lee and in his later years, he attended Christ Church Apostolic where he enjoyed the preaching of Bishop James E. Tyson.

He enlisted into the United States Army, where he served in the Vietnam War until receiving his honorable discharge.

Clarence united in Holy Matrimony to Marie Williams. To their union two children were born, AndrT Lamont and Michael Ramon.

Clarence was employed with Daimler Chrysler. He served as Chairperson/Member over tenure of thirty-five years, over all the standing union committees; which included Local 1226 Electric and Local 550 Foundry. Clarence's job title was CIP, Continuous Improvement Coordinator.

Wedding Bells rang on August 17, 1982, when Clarence and Nancy Murphy were united together to enjoy over eighteen years of marital bliss, which brought three sons into his life, James, Michael and Raymone. He and Nancy enjoyed traveling and taking many cruises.

Some of Clarence Jr's other activities included, Ambassador with Madame Walker Theatre Center, Indiana Black Expo, Haughville Connection, which he served as Secretary. He was also on the committee for the Falcon Lakes Homeowners Association in his subdivision. He also enjoyed working as a Democratic Precinct Committeeman.

Clarence's favorite hobby was bowling in which he was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Bowlers, for bowling a 300-point game.

"Peabody", as many affectionately knew him, was loved by everyone he met and met no strangers.

Clarence was overcome with joy when finding out that his youngest brother was opening a Funeral Home. That was always a dream of his and he was excited and proud of the day his brothers Grand Opening, in which he was a part of the staff.

On Christmas Eve, Clarence had the opportunity to be surrounded by his wife, brothers, sisters and other family and friends. This Holiday always brought joy to him by being "Mr. Santa Claus" to his nieces and nephews.He departed this life on Wednesday, December 27, 2000 at the age of fifty-five years, three months and twenty days.

Clarence Ellis, Jr. leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Nancy Y. Ellis; five sons, AndrT L. Ellis and Michael R. Ellis, James A. Wilson, Michael L. Cowherd and Raymone D. Mockabee; six sisters, Claudia Merchant, Marcia June Rasdell, Vivian M. Rice, Patricia J. Clark, Deborah E. Anderson, Rhonda L. Shackelford; three brothers, Ronald D. Ellis, Vernon Douglas Ellis, Darryl D. Ellis; seven grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all.We Love You!
