James and Lerlean Satterfield were blessed with the birth of a beautiful baby girl, Patricia Ann Satterfield. She was the first daughter and the second of six children. She was born in Richmond, Indiana and moved to Indianapolis during her preteen years. She resided in Indianapolis her remaining years.
Patricia accepted Christ at an early age. As a teenager, she worshipped at the Eastside Baptist Church in Indianapolis. For the past five years she has worshippedand faithfully served at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.
At the tender age of 17, Patricia met and fell in love with Stanley Vernon Thornton. The two were united in marriage on September 19, 1969. Stanley will forever cherish the thirty years and two months he shared with his beloved Pat.
Patricia graduated from Shortridge High School and attended Marion College. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for various organizations, most recently at the American United Life Company, where she was employed for several years.
There was never a dull moment when Patricia, affectionately known as "Tricia" was around. Her effervescent personality and joyful laughter will be remembered forever. Beneath the gaiety, however, dwelled a quiet strength. Whatever her burdens may have been, she bore them quietly. No matter what befell her, she did not complain and always looked beyond her personal struggles reaching out to her family and friends, showing love in her own special way.
Patricia departed this life on Saturday December 4, 1999. She leaves a void in our lives and will be deeply missed.
" I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die." (John 11:25-26) |
