| While the Bosler family was awaiting occupancy of the bigger home they had purchased at 4750 Central, Brian David Bosler was born, February 10, 1965. He was the sixth son, seventh child of Paul and Sharon Bosler. His baptism was February 28, 1965, the day of a huge snowstorm. Tim and Rose Ann McDowell were his Godparents at St. Joan of Arc Church. Brian attended seven years of elementary school there and finished in 1979 at Immaculate Heart of Mary, which the family joined in 1978. He was an outstanding student at Chatard High School, where he was a National Honor Society member. He carried the "News" for seven years, winning many trips and the Eugene Pulliam Memorial Scholarship. In 1987, he graduated from Wabash College cum laude where he had a Presidential Scholarship and spent his junior year at Queens College, Aberdeen, Scotland. He had completed his first semester at Indiana University Medical School, Bloomington, Indiana, when he suffered fatal injuries in his Ford Escort at 22nd Street and Delaware on December 23, 1987. He is sorely missed by all the Boslers and remembered through a memorial fund at Bishop Chatard High School, which donates a cash reward in Brian's name each May to a high achieving senior majoring in science from the fund. |
