Bobbie Jean was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana to Horace Paul and Mandy Jane Welch Jent. She grew up with her older brother Carlos who was nicknamed 'Snooker.' She met and fell in love with Jack when she was just sixteen and he was nineteen. They married on October 16, 1954. Nine months later, they had their first child, a son. They went on to have five more children, all boys. Bobbie loved and was proud of each of them. All of the Hudson boys' friends knew her and thought she was a cool mom. She always had a carload of kids to take some place or another and she jokingly referred to herself as 'Moms Taxi.'
Bobbie worked for Western Electric for 24 years. She loved her job and met many lifelong friends there. One of her favorite things to do was to play the slot machines at Las Vegas or on a riverboat casino. When Jack would take her to Vegas, she would stay up all night just to play. Another one of her hobbies was breeding miniature schnauzers. She would get excited when the new puppies were born. She would care for them as if they were her own babies until it was time to let them go. She was a huge sports fan who loved the Pacers and the Colts. |
