Linda L. Worrell Fentz Pottenger

Birth Date: 8/28/1940
Death Date: 12/24/2000
Washington Park East Cemetery
First President, Building 6, Section W 40, Crypt 71D, Level 7

Linda was a Loving Wife and Daughter, A Precious Mom and Nany, and a Cherished Friend to Many.

Linda was an only child of George and Margaret (Dirk) Worrell. Her father died in 1980, and is entombed at Washington Park East also. She raised two children whom she dearly loved: Scott and Lisa. She worked for 26 years at Ameritech in the accounting department. She was a long time member of Southport Presbyterian Church.

Linda was the 'sweetest, nicest, and funniest person,' she 'never spoke ill of anyone,' she was lots of fun and always fashionable and very beautiful, she was a true friend who was always there if she was needed. Everyone who talks about Linda speaks of her virtues-that she had a gift for forgiveness, that she never held a grudge or held on to resentment, that she was seldom angry, that she was at peace with everyone, and that she had compassion.

Linda was an eyewitness to the events at Pearl Harbor. Her father was stationed there. Linda was 15 months old when the bombs fell on the beach where she had been playing only the day before. It was truly a dangerous and chaotic time and Margaret had to take a ship through dangerous waters back to Los Angeles with baby Linda and then find the way back to Indiana.

Linda grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Manual High School in 1958.

1992, The "Card Club", a group of women who have been friends for decades. They got together regularly for vacations, for shopping, for lunch, for holiday dinners. They relied on one another, called on one another during crises and difficulties, and leaned on one another through all of the changes that you go through in a lifetime.

As soon as she had witness the birth, she left to shop, returning to the hospital room with bags and bags of baby clothes. Linda loved being a grandmother, loved seeing Lisa become a mother and loved little Shelby.

June 21, 1998. Finally after dating since 1985, Linda and Don married in Las Vegas. Lovers and Soul Mates. They shared a love for their combined families, golf, dancing, plus watching basketball, football and auto racing. They enjoyed season tickets for the Colts and the Pacers.
