Edward was born on March 19, 1922 in East Vandergrift, Pennsylvania to Albert and Ada Essey. Albert passed away when Ed was 12 years old and Ada passed away 1 year later. Ed has one brother and one sister. Ed, his brother and sister were raised by an aunt and uncle. Ed left home at age 16 and went to work for CCC for 2 years cutting trees and fighting forest fires. He came home an joined the Army November 6, 1942 WAI in CO 8 714th Tank Battalion. Ed served over seas in Germany and France. He won five medals. Ed marries Mary Healey, they had three children, Edward II, Ida and Theresa. They divorced, met and married Rose M. Guillot. Ed has seven grandchildren, Great grandchild, one stepdaughter and one step-grandchild. Ed was a truck driver and a Metro Bus Driver. |
