Ralph 'Doc' Wilham served with the Indianapolis Fire Department for 20 years, retiring with the rank of captain in 1984. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 416, the Retired Fireman's Club, Masonic Lodge 717, American Legion Post 500, the Scottish Rite and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a Kentucky Colonel. Doc was proud to be: a child of God's, a brother of a great family, an American, a Westsider, a George Washington High School graduate and a firefighter. Our friend 'Doc' captivated everyone he met. He never bragged about what he did when he helped someone or provided assistance for someone in need. Doc's faith, love and devotion to his family, friends and church have helped a lot of us to overcome many obstacles and place him in the circle of Life's Winners. He was also a member of Westview Baptist Church.
Doc, I believe I speak for all of us. We are not going to say good-bye. We're just going to say.
