| Gunars was born, Riga, Latvia December 12, 1940. He arrived in the United States in 1949 and became a US Citizen in September 1959. Gunars is a 1963 graduate of St. Mary's College, Winona. Minnesota. He joined the Army in 1963. He was stationed at, First Lt. Infantry, Ft. Gordon, Georgia, being discharged in 1966. He started a Career in Public Accounting at Geo. S. Olive Company in Indianapolis, Indiana. He continued there for 15 years and 1980 he opened his own accounting firm, Norkus & Associates. He was an honest, trustworthy man who made accounting fun. He loved to go to Las Vegas, where people would remember him by his novel home designated hats. He always liked to bring a chuckle and smile to others at his own expense. He died too early at the age of 60, with many unfulfilled dreams. |
