Egbert Lewis Pfeiffer was born in Crawford County, Indiana on March 16, 1918. His child exploits gave new meaning to the term 'Preacher's Kid.' Ed was very proud to discuss his high school athletics programs. The legendary Weeb Eubanks, who gained fame as the NFL coach of the Baltimore Colts and NY Jets coached him. Ed began studying psychology at the University of Illinois, before serving in the Army Air Corps. This is where he 'flew the hump' in China-Burma-India during WWII and earned two Bronze Stars. After his honorable discharge, he returned to graduate from Illinois. He studied and taught at Butler and Purdue University, where he received his Masters and cherished PHD. While teaching, 'Doc' continued to practice privately and specialized in childhood development and relationships. He also remained physically active playing softball, golf and riding his Gold Wing Motorcycle. |
