| Lilly was married to Robert H. York (Divie) on December 2,1917, at the tender age of 14. She had two daughters, Anna Jo and Frances. She was a seamtress and homemaker all of her life. Lilly was a devout Christian and a member of the Maple Grove Church near Scottville, Kentucky, until Divie, herself and their daughters to Indianapolis in 1943. The family was treated to some home made clothes but they loved her cooking and canning the most. Lilly maintained a large garden every year, where the girls helped. The family's favorites were cream corned and fried evaporated peach pies. She loved flowers and grew them every year. Lilly's entire life was devoted to her husband and family, who are all very grateful today. We all love and miss her very much. |
