Born 12/29/1896 - 02/04/1967 Lora was a woman of honor and pride, enjoyed living and never met a stranger. Her life was simple, but very fulfilled with her social life and her family. She became a single mother to her children, Florence Wanda and Paul. With Lora's determination and gratitude for life's gifts, she made a good life for her family.
I knew her best as 'Moy' my grandmother. She was a sweet grandmother, full of life and always having fun. She would never come to visit without something in a big brown bag. Sometimes it would be Buttermilk cookies from Roselyn bakery, fresh fruit from the City Market or a dozen or two of fresh yeast donuts from Longs Bakery. When I see the Christmas lights downtown or if I need your help in making it through life's high hurdles, I still feel you are here with me.
'Moy', we all miss you deeply and think of you often. You left us too soon but you gave us a strong foundation for walking through life and living it.
We love you so much and miss you.... |

1953In her apartment , downtown, Indianapolis, she enjoyed being close to her office where she was a typist with speeds up to eighty words per minute. She loved The Holidays with all the lights and good cheer from everyone.

1959At the Indiana State Fair's car show. She would rarely let her picture be taken, but this 1959 Pink Super Wing Dodge was irresistible.

1965Shopping downtown, this candid photo shows her joy of life and that warm sweet smile that I can still see in my dreams.
