How do you begin to describe 53 loving years of marriage? The sweet love of early marriage which includes the birth of two children and hardships of finance and learning each other. The later adult years that provide for family nurturing but allow for individual growth of lovers. The more stable years ( the middle age years) when the children are grown and acquiring families of their own, and finding that our own goals have been met along the way. The pleasures of retirement, church, grandchildren and children have surrounded us until these last two years of illness and death. I miss my Husband, Lover and Friend.

He was always Daddy or Pappa. I loved him, he knew everything. He was a teacher, theologian, mathematician, astronomer, historian and hero. Whether it was looking through his telescope as a child, or learning how to fix the plumbing and hang wallpaper as an adult, his patience and guidance were always there for me. He loved people, life, God and his family. His own father was blind and daddy's hardships as a child molded his outlook on life. Be honorable, truthful, respectful and help anyone you can was communicated to us throughout our lives. At his work and as a Bible Study Teacher for his church many people have felt his loving touch and have told us later how much he meant to them.
