Stanley R. Thomas, son of Henry and Virginia Banks Thomas, was born in Indianapolis, IN. He attended elementary schools and Manual High School here in Indianapolis. At an early age, Brother Thomas worked for the former Kingans Meat Packing House for several years. He also worked for Indianapolis Power and Light Co. and Railroadmens Savings and Loan Co. Stanley was a man of many trades and had various kinds. When Brother Thomas was a very young man, he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Lelia Esters. To this union eight sons and five daughters were born. Brother Thomas was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1936. He was a member of Christ Temple for many years. He later moved his membership to Zion Tabernacle Apostolic in 1982. Brother Thomas was very faithful to the Midday Tuesday Bible Class. He regularly attended until his health prevented him from attending. He will be remembered for his great concern for the widows and senior citizens. He shared finances with many. In 1992 he was awarded a plaque for his dedicated support. Stanley R. Thomas went home to be with the Lord, September 16, 2000 at the age of ninety two years, eight months and nineteen days. Stanley's wife of many years and two of his sons preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his precious memories six sons, five daughters, a sister, a daughter in law Earline Thomas, fifty two grandchildren, seventy six great grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, church family, acquaintances and friends. The Family |
