David Bradley Gividen (Brad)

Birth Date: 12/18/1981
Death Date: 11/5/1999
Washington Park East Cemetery
Garden of the Four Seasons, Lot 45D, Grave 2

Brad Gividen entered the world suddenly on a cold and snowy December 18, 1981. He loved his family, friends, music and God deeply. Brad joined an older brother and sisiter, Nate and Erin, and enjoyed their constant companionship during the home schooling days. Though miles separated them during the middle to high school years, Brad always thrilled at the reunions. His sudden exit from this world on November 5, 1999, left a gaping hole in the lives of his family and friends. But we know through faith that he is enjoying his music and his God even now, and soon by God's grace through Jesus Christ, we will join Brad in a glorious, eternal reunion. Until we see that contagious smile again, we love you, Brad.

Unlike his older sister, at two months Brad had hair! At three months old Brad was alert and played with bright and noisy toys. Almost always happy, he was a "just add water" baby.

Brad, at age two, posed for the photographer. In Oct. 1984 at almost three, he enjoyed chocolate cake at Nathan's eight birthday party.

Brad was home schooled through fourth grade. Here he sits at his desk in third grade. Brad is dressed in his favorite color, blue, for the "official" school picture.

The Bible was a gift Brad used at home school and at Sunday school.

Brad went into braces in February of 1995 and came out of them in June of 1997. His orthodontist said he had a smile that would light up the room.

Brad had natural musical ability. Although we had to threaten him to practice the trumpet, he would still make A's in band with little effort. However, no one ever had to ask him to practice his guitars!

The family loved our summer vacation to visit Nate in Palm Beach, FL. The waitress took our photo at the seafood restaurant during Brad's last trip in August of 1999.

Brad loved music and playing his guitar. Here he is with two church friends enjoying themselves at the Kentucky Retreat in October of 1999.

One week before Brad's death he spent a fantastic weekend of fall break at the annual Kentucky Retreat with the Castleview Baptist youth group. He's reading his devotions.

Brad never got to see his senior picture proofs, but we think he would be pleased. We wait with hope to see his face again.
